  3. Click Convert, then download each file or all of them as a ZIP

About this tool

Different formats suit different jobs. JPG is best for photos and is accepted everywhere. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, so it suits logos, screenshots and graphics. WebP makes files 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality and is supported by every modern browser. GIF, BMP, ICO and TIFF are there for older software, Windows icons and print workflows.

Conversion happens on your own device using the browser’s image engine, so even private photos stay private. When you convert a transparent PNG to JPG, transparent areas are filled with the background color you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Which image formats can I convert from?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP, ICO, TIFF, SVG, HEIC/HEIF and AVIF (in browsers that support it).

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Drop as many files as you like. Each one is converted in turn and you can download them individually or as a single ZIP.

Why is there no AVIF output?

Browsers can display AVIF but most cannot create it yet, so we only offer output formats that work reliably on every device.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
