  2. Pick the delimiter and encoding options
  3. Click Convert and download the CSV files

About this tool

Values are exported as displayed (formatted dates and numbers), which matches what you see in Excel. Add a UTF-8 BOM if you plan to reopen the CSV in Excel on Windows, so accented characters display correctly.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to formulas?

The CSV contains the calculated values. Formulas themselves can’t be stored in CSV.

Are multiple sheets supported?

Yes, each sheet is exported as a separate CSV, downloadable as a ZIP.

Can I open old .xls files?

Yes. XLS, XLSX, XLSM, XLSB and ODS are all supported.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
