How to use Compare PDFs
- Drop the original PDF and the revised PDF (two files)
- Click Compare
- Review the text changes and the highlighted visual diff for each page
About this tool
The text comparison extracts each page’s text and runs a word-level diff: removed words are struck through in red, added words are highlighted in green. The visual comparison renders both versions and marks pixels that differ in magenta, which catches changes in images, signatures and layout that text comparison misses.
Frequently asked questions
Does page order matter?
Pages are compared in pairs (page 1 with page 1). If pages were inserted, later pages will show as changed.
Can it compare scanned PDFs?
The visual diff works on scans, but tiny scanning shifts will show as differences. Text diff needs a text layer.
Are both files kept private?
Yes, both are processed only in your browser.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. ConvertBrightly processes files with JavaScript inside your browser. Nothing is sent over the network, and the files disappear when you close the tab. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
